Chris Grimley’s Story: Founder of Fusion Hair Co.
Hello, I’m Chris Grimley, the proud owner of Fusion Hair Co., which is now celebrating its 18th anniversary. I’ve had the honour of owning Fusion solely for the past seven years, and during that time we’ve continued to grow, evolve, and make our mark in the industry, including becoming the first salon in Lincolnshire to win a British Hairdressing Business Award (BHBA) in 2024.
My passion for hair began at a young age, spending hours styling my Girls World dolls and experimenting with my school friends’ hair. Those early moments sparked a lifelong love for hairdressing and set the foundation for the career I’ve built.
After leaving school, I pursued my dream by studying hairdressing at college, where I qualified with distinction and later completed my NVQ Level Three. My professional journey began in a salon in Grimsby, but it was at Pampas, also in Grimsby, where a brilliant mentor taught me the importance of precision cutting, a skill that remains at the heart of my craft.
As life evolved and I began raising a family, I moved into mobile hairdressing briefly and later joined a small salon in Keelby. My desire to share knowledge then led me to a teaching role at the local college, where I thrived. Still, I missed the creativity and energy of salon life, which inspired me to open Fusion Hair Co.
Fusion was originally launched with a partner, but for the past seven years I’ve proudly led the salon on my own. My vision has always been to create a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive space that confidently caters to all hair textures and I’m delighted to say that we have truly achieved this.
A huge part of our success comes from the incredible team I’ve nurtured and supported. I’m a firm believer in continuous education, and I’m proud of how eagerly my team embraces learning, growing, and passing new knowledge on to our clients. This dedication ensures that every visit to Fusion Hair Co. is not just a service, but a memorable and uplifting experience.

About The Salon
Fusion Hair Co was established in Laceby in 2007, and since then, the salon has seen significant growth, leading to a recent move to larger premises. This expansion has allowed us to grow as a team and offer an even better service to our clients. At Fusion Hair Co, we take sustainability seriously and strive to recycle 90% of our salon waste to prevent it from ending up in landfills. We are proud to use products and colors that are PETA approved and have recyclable packaging, as we continuously work towards becoming more eco-friendly.
Our commitment to excellence has been recognized through multiple awards, including Best Salon and Best Color Salon in Lincolnshire for the past four years. Education and training are at the core of our ethos, ensuring that our team stays up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends in the industry.
